It would be fun, though! My son thinks the dragon should be added to the Union Jack. Tlws. Or is it 'tlos'? Welsh is fiendish :).

    No, no, Claralou.
There are things I would fly, or plant a Saltire for. But football will never be one of them.
But good luck to England in whatever it is they are playing in.:)

I can't understand 'part time patrotism' either be fully patriotic or not at all, just ptting up a flag for a sports tournament be that footie, cricket or rugby seems pointless to me, a flower bed for the whole summer would be nice though. We should be proud of our country ALL the time.:)

My choice would be having an English flag and a South african flag but I dislike football. Anyway even if I did some plonker will come along and probably trash my car becasue i have a South african flag flying.
Now if it was a Rugby tournament they would be giving me a thumbs up and cheering.

A few years back my OH went on a business trip to Glasgow and was surprised by the number of people who were walking around in Brazilian football shirts. Yep, you guessed it .... it was England v Brazil that day! :rotfl:

I am lucky enough to have a husband who isn't too fussed about football. We are having to make an effort for the kids of course, who are football mad, but it's all in a good sense of proportion around here!

We'll make an effort for each match, and will have little world cup parties, but no flag flower beds I'm afraid. The very thought..... (shudders) But good on you those who have them.

Actually we're very sad and we always do little parties for things. My bro in law phoned up on Saturday night, and my husband explained we were having a Eurovision party. "Who's coming?" he asked. "Just us and the kids" my husband replied! Well, my Mum always taught me that if you don't make the days special, no one does it for you!
