To be fair, there is no understanding the workings of the human mind under stress.

He may have been terrified for some time but holding it together, and having some almost worthless material possession taken from him might have been the last straw.

No @shiney its short for a self-contained program or piece of software designed to fulfil a particular purpose; an application, especially as downloaded by a user to a mobile device.;)

But an app is not just any old software program — it’s a special type of software program.

An app typically refers to software used on a smartphone or mobile device such as the Android, iPhone, BlackBerry or iPad, as in “mobile app” or “iphone app.”

But the phrase “Web app” or “online app” is also used in a business setting as an abbreviation for “Web application” or “online application” — meaning software that you access and use while online, via a browser, instead of software residing on your computer (such as Microsoft Word).

We could get more esoteric, as this definition, preferring to think of an app (at least in the sense of an app used on a mobile device) as being a “shortened” or narrow software application, that perhaps does just one function or that provides a small bit of entertainment. While that definition holds some appeal when referring to mobile devices, it doesn’t really address the word “app” when used in the sense of an online software service.:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Amusingly, this is remarkably similar to a prominent philosophy in martial arts, where we are ultimately taught to be soft, calm and still. Except in martial arts philosophy softness is not really soft, and stillness refers to moving so naturally that the mind thinks you're not moving at all. Putting the two together equates to 'flowing over' an opponent like water while, also like water, simply moving around any counter by the opponent.

Or in other words, softness is all about the more brutal aspect of martial arts.

Brutality/The state or quality of being ruthless, cruel, harsh,or unrelenting.

Good evening the softness I am talking about is made up of compassion, understanding, kindness, non judgemental of others around us,and truly believing that we are all equal, being able to listen instead of talking ,not walking past when someone needs your help.making allowances for the people around you and yourself,it is so far removed from brutality as the other side of the galaxy is from Earth;)

I understood what you meant, and agree. It just amused me because in martial arts the same qualities are often right at the core of its philosophy. So it seems ironic that an art designed for combat should claim to be all the things you mention. Personally I tend not to think too much about that. I like the art of movement and the art of self control. I don't like the idea of hurting people. But interestingly everyone I know that trains in any format of martial arts, without exception, is a good compassionate person with no desire or intention to hurt anyone.

I have known a number of people that trained in martial arts and a proportion of those have done so because they wanted to be able to 'wade in' during a scrap. Although I disapprove of that attitude I must say it came in handy when one of those people waded in when we were in a disturbance in a pub in the Cape Town docks in 1962. He saved one of our shipmates from being seriously injured but I think that a person proficient in martial arts and not having that attitude may have done the same.

I only ever learnt non-combative Tai Chi.
