hawthorne tree. red scarlet

    Hello Inter - just to let you know that mine and Cookie Mum's Paul's Scarlett are now flowering away.

    After the uprooting by wind disaster I had last spring, it is such a relief to see those pink blossoms again - but the new growth I have, since heavily pruning, has not blossomed this year.

    A worthy tree indeed!

    I guess we can all now cast a clout now Mae is out!

    I love this hawthorn its such a beautiful tree :) but i was wondering this red hawthorn is it a variation of and original white hawthorn? and then grafted on to rootstock?

    Mine has been in blossom for a week or so
    Once again, it is a beautiful sight
    I have a small seedling that I am growing on as a bonsai for Lady of Leisure, that I think is the red flowered variety
    It is branching out well and I will probably dig it up and post it to her in the autumn :)
