I thought I try HDR on this. It's the Mull of Kintyre. Took the pic about 4 years ago.

On reflection (no pun) maybe the original says it all.

Why do you want it in HDR.I think this type of image is ruined with this process

This took about 2 mins, and is far better imho than any hdr effects.

This is a hdr site. Its got loads of good examples of both properly done, and completely overcooked hdr pics.I personaly dont like it,theres too many cräp processed images for my liking, but its worth haveing a scan through.

I think I have to agree with Joe on your picture.
For me the darkened, crispy image has more appeal.

Well I've got to agree with both of you. HDR didn't work on that one. Actually Joe's version is quite like the version that I have as my desktop on the PC.
The HDR site was interesting Joe - some really good examples of HDR, but as you say some rather over cooked ones too. However the are some examples of extreme HDR that did seem to work (for me anyway) much depends on the subject.

Has this worked? Or have I over cooked it?
Taken in November in the Cairngorms National Park.

Visited a rare site the other day, on the Yorkshire Water reseviors overflowing in August!
Minor HDR adjustments from 3xEV exposures. into PS for High pass filter.
Dave. Like your Cairngorms National Park picture, I cant help feeling that your picture my benifit from extreme HDR process. Just my personnel feeling.

    Thanks Dave.
I am beginning to think that the HDR process for me is best used to crisp up existing images, with very minor changes required on most pics, and then into PS for the final polish.
As for the extreme HDR?... not for me at this time.

Capney that sums up the whole lot of editing processes for me. I love some extremely "done" pics, but few artists are able to do this in style, imho.
What are the things in the pic on top of the page? There is a Parma Violet label, lol, that's my home town.
