poppy 33 dont feel awful we all miss read things its easily done, I suppose most people dislike having to do certain things in their jobs, I was only joking as my dog has to be cleaned sometimes after she has been out with having long hair and i dont relish the idea but i have to do it and i suppose it would be the same iff i ever did find a tick, we just get on with it. we take the good with the bad in all walks of life.

This evening I got back from work to find a dear little hedgehog waiting for me, she was near the workshop, I took a look at her to find she had two ticks :cry3:, Kev got back just in time to help me to pick up the hedgehog & remove the ticks :dbgrtmb:, they were quite big & of course full of blood .
I popped her into a shoebox with some cat food & a bowl of water nearby, after about 30 mins she scurried off under the fence into next doors garden :phew:, that's my good deed done for today :dbgrtmb:
Here's a photo, for obvious reasons I didn't use the flash...

(I had folded the end of the box down so she could get out easily)

The below are quite good and cost only a couple of quid. Living in the countryside surrounded by sheep and a few wild deer our horse and cats get a few deer and sheep ticks. These make the job of removal simple and much less likelihood of leaving the head of the tick in situ. Well done Beckie!

I carry those in my coat pocket silu, often get the odd hitch hiker after hill walking in the heather, I can't remember if you turn clockwise or anti clockwise, they only come out one way.
