This is the back of the house (house cant make up its mind whats the front and whats the back)

More wild roddies (have taken out a lot already but the boss wants no more removed) a copper beech and some nice beeches at the back with the odd sitka and pine for good measure. Part of the "lawn" which was formed when tree roots and drainage done but its full of weeds again.

This is along to the right from photo above. Lawn with flower bed where laylandii hedge was. Stone outbuilding at back which I rebuilt with my son and veg patch a beside. Fruit trees in front of outbuilding. Obilisk and some other bits I welded up as well. weeds by the hundreds 20200604_115358.jpg

Some of the weeds I am having issues with in the grass - clover, creeping buttercup and reeds from the field. Soil is very heavy and was waterlogged - drainage is helping. I think the ground may be on the acidic side so I've applied lime and am going to feed it soon and see how it gets on. Bit annoying after all the work its taken to get it flattened and seeded etc but hey ho 20200604_115441.jpg

Lovely oil tank which the boss has been growing some plants about but its going to have to move - its too close to the house. Cherry "stella" in lawn - on colt rootstock its grown well. You can see the reeds in the grass here fairly clearly 20200604_115622.jpg

Front garden with the greenhouse I've just got up. Copper beech that is suffering - I think previous owners had the water main replaced and roots have been damaged - its recovered a bit since we moved but its clearly had a bit of a shock. Wood under tarp on an old patio area for a shed I need to build. This lawn was here when we moved an is a bit better. Bit of red thread last year with the weather. 20200604_115733.jpg

Another view of wood with some new trees - I have to get some trees planted but not permitted to take out whole lot of sitka at once by boss so its hard going. Nice blanket of weeds in centre and nettles etc to right 20200604_115824.jpg

I am hoping to grub out a lot of these massive conifers and plant some smaller trees that may offer some screening. I am hoping to build a reasonably large shed and daren't start whilst these big trees are about as sure as fate one will flatten it. Also was wondering about a pond down the bottom here as its the lowest point and with the garden being clay it tends to flood in the autumn/ winter. Only issue is perhaps the lack of light perhaps?
This year I am going to get the summerhouse built, hopefully build a compost bin area, move the Anderson shelter (only have 2 sections of it) and repair it and make it into a small storage shed perhaps near the greenhouse. Have to get the old house roof re-slated and hopefully knock down the conservatory (bottom of it is rotten) and build a porch. Plus I need to make a hydraulic log splitter to process firewood more efficiently - splitting sitka spruce with an axe is slow as its full of knots - its not great firewood but I have tons of it.
