The bottom one is the australis, the smaller one in the top photo is the Indivisa. It had big 3ins across leaves when I first bought it. After the first winter I cut off the yellowing leaves leaving quite a nice trunk. The new growth has been much thinner leaves and the colour is lighter and not the lush green as before. I think this year it needs to go in the ground to regain its form. They do ok in pots but they do so much better in the soil. I did't take any photos of it when I bought it but it may have sneaked in to someone elses photo so I will have a look.

Ah, that sounds good, so it will be interesting to see what happens when its planted out.
As I say the one I saw was really impressive and unmistakablely different from australis.

Just the small matter of finding a bit of soil to put it in!

Have just taken some soggy pics in the garden and decided to post the view from the Secret patio at the end of the garden.

Hornbeam I loved your Ferns. They are great at this time of year before they have had a chance for that fragile foliage to burn.

So, what are these georgeous plans, then??
Love the garden, every time you post a picture, its totally different to the last picture....
Its like rubbing salt into the wound with me, as I am still waiting for the landscapers to get in contact. They are due to start 2 weeks today... and I can't do a thing!!!! (apart from drool at everyone else's gardens!!! and moan..

Front right is Phoenix canariensis, Hosta is June (I think), Bamboo is Phyllostachys aurea
Golden Bamboo, behind that is a gorgeous bamboo called Phyllostachys aureosulcata "Spectabilis"
but you can't see it. The red tree is a Jap maple acer 'bloodgood', and the fern is the rather special Leptopteris superba (Prince of Wales Fern).

I like to post lots of pics because forums can make dull reading without em'. I don't mean to rub salt. Bit wet for landscapers at the mo, will be drinking tea I think!

    Have you seen my hostas?

    And my hairy fronds?

& what is the Triffid thingy??? Elder little darling says is it a type of Pitcher plant... and the war of the world one, is that a Banana flower??

Lovely Hostas - mine have been slugged, again, in the greenhouse. I can do a fab line in lattice-work ones!!!! They are all pot bound and very unhappy.

As for the landscapers - they were having an extended tea break when it was dry 2 months ago!!!!! Unfortunately, there will be no point getting someone else, as by the time we hove found someone, it'll be months before they can start!!
Patience has never been one of my virtues, can you tell!!!!
and as for your hairy fronds (ooeerr!!) - I was really pleased at how many we have sprouting, binging the total on the tree back up to 10, but yours looks like it has loads more!!!!! Typical!!!! what do you feed yours?? Ours is still in the pot, and I've been giving it a general fertilizer..... Unfortunately, its had to be stored against a brick wall, and with all this wind, its ripping the fronds to pieces...

I would post more pictures, but I got a new memory card (512MB), but the computer doesn't like it for some reason & I've got to try and find out why - works ok in the camera!!
