After many adventures I have eventually become a member. I recently moved home and decided to make something of an awkward garden given mainly to an 'L' shaped lawn with restricted sunlight. I hope to learn from other members how best to overcome some of the problems I will face.

:sign0016: to GC @Kinman and congratulations on your new home and garden.

Is it just the lawn which is L shaped, or the actual garden? Restricted sunlight shouldn't pose a huge problem there are some very handsome plants which thrive in shadier areas.

Couple of tips to get you started before asking your questions:-
              1) Could you put your general location in your profile, please? That helps the more knowledgeable members a fairly good idea of the conditions of your area (e.g. soil type)

              2) Pictures are always appreciated when posing questions about a specific area. Please do not think we are being nosey ( we are, but it does have practical purposes too :heehee: ) but it also serves as a fabulous reminder of how things were when you started out. Then, as you do more in and with the garden it becomes a history of your accomplishments

Looking forward to seeing you around the forums :)

Many thanks for your warm welcome and my sincere apologies for not having responded in like fashion. I am in the process of taking tests prior to having a hip replacement and my mobility at present is almost zero. That doesn't stop me posting but it does make the simple things of survival very drawn out and I'll be glad when life returns to something like normal.
I do have numerous questions regarding my 'new' garden (I moved in a few months ago and it's a fenced 'L' shaped area of grass, not a plant (almost)nor structure in sight) and issues regarding trees and a potential greenhouse and shed etc but for now I'll sort out a picture and get my domestics in order. Merry Christmas to you all, and a Happy New Year.:kitty chrissy:

                            Hello and welcome kinman.

Don't listen to me. Unless you want a garden full of nasturtium. Although I am the only person I know that has fought and won two bindweed wars :)
