A huskvarna 325 HS99 Its a single side blade, cant fault it a very nice machine in terms of ballance and vibration levels.

The modern stihl pro hedge trimmers are built off the domestic 27cc engine and are IMO a heap of crap. Stihl dont even offer the 99cm blade in the heavy teeth pattern were as huskvarna do.

Hayter ranger is a sound mower and what I initially bought. i found minea bit heavy and i had problems with the height of cut and drive cables.

I now use an Etesia pro 51 K.

at the moment ive got a hs75 and a hs80 as a spare because i got it cheep when stihl bought out a new model :thumb: ive also got a single sided stihl but i cant get on with it  i dont know why but i get on better with a double sided blade i think it could be because i find it easyer in a confined space :)
i looked at an Etesia but i decided on the hayter because of how well my first mower lasted !

if you perservere with the single sider youll find it twice as quick due to longer blade and lighter. they do take a bit of time to adjust to mind.

to be honest i usually work on an up cut or in your example away from the house although Im quite adept at using it on a down cut were its awkward.

    Welcome SpudBristol!

Well done for working so hard - your Grandad would be very proud of you!

Bristol is a really nice part of the world - my mum is in Keynsham! I trim her hedge though... :p .... and wouldn't be brave enough to post a pic of the finished result on here - Thank goodness privet grows so quickly. :o

    Hope you enjoy the forum
