And a Partner Combi - again the upper end of your budget, but worth a look? Looks like this one has had the rear offside door sprayed, but that could just be minor accident damage - worth checking further before parting with any pennies.

Fiat Ulysse that might fit the bill? I hate Fiat's with a passion, however this one isn't really a Fiat - its a Citroen/Peugeot in drag (same car as the Peugeot 806 or the Citroen Synergie

Happy to help, and the least I can do for all the help I've had on these forums.

Hopefully you get something you like soon - but remember, its on condition that we get photos of the new wheels once you get them!

seriously at times when you live in a new town and you have no family, it is so hard to ask some one for help or advice, so i am indebted to you for you thoughtfulness and time

today i have looked at a renault kangoo 4x4 and a suzuki wagon i think the wagon is way too small and the kangoo just felt wrong but the 4x4 is apparently higher set then a reg kangoo :dunno: have yet to find a berlingo i can have a good look at :heehee:

a few of those Fc were fab but the tax and insurance :hate-shocked: :runforhills:

Well that looks like a genuine seller Kaz, plus it's on your doorstep which is good.

I wonder what is meant by ""... no tax {tax class will have to be changed }" ?

Good luck viewing, ask them what the reserve price is.

i have discovered that auto traders mileage gadget is crap it doesnt seem to register that you cant actually drive across the the bristol channel that you do have to drive up to the severn bridge and come back down on roads

47 miles from mine to Minehead indeed !

EDIT i love the crap instead of what i typed :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The mileage isn't too much of a worry to be honest Kaz, as long as its been serviced regularly it should be fine - the 1.4 engine in those is a development of the 'Energy' engines (B14e) that was fitted to Renault 5, 19 and Clio's, and is fairly well proven. Make sure that it drives OK without noises, and that everything works.

        Things to particularly check:

        - With the engine running, open the bonnet and then with it open, look under the front of the car for any leaks (particularly coolant)

        - Does the engine warm up after a short drive, and does the heater blow warm air.

        - Does the clutch slip (stick it in fourth at a low speed and accelerate hard and listen for the engine revving without it driving the car onwards); if it does slip, walk away as I believe they are a bar steward of a job to do on one of these.

        - Check behind the rear wheels, and have a look at the backplates on the rear brakes; surface rust is normal, but if there are any holes they will want replaced. Not a reason not to buy, but a reason to haggle a bit off.

        - Does the handbrake hold the car on a hill

While you are waiting, it might be worth a bit of research to see what is involved in having the taxation class changed.

        Good luck! :)

No, not spying Kaz - just had a bit of experience of the handbrakes on old Renaults! Do you live on a hill then? Sounds like that Mondeo was a lucky escape really - it could easily have killed someone.

I'll be there in spirit with you ;)
