It has to be 9 nine letters or it would be 5,4-already tried that one.

I thought myosotis(forget me not)-Alaskan state flower, Archangel Gabriel being some one you can pray to aid memory etc-then counted the letters in myosotis-doesn`t work.

A pox on you and all your house Clematis LOL this is really bugging me now.

Archangel(9 letters?) what`s that then, is that a possibility?

I know Archangel fits but what has that got to do with Alaska - or am I just being thick?

Right okay-after intensive googling I believe there was a town on the frontier of Russia named New Archangel.

If this is not the answer then I will chew my arm off.

Gabriel is too obvious to refer to anything other than an Archangel-unless it`s an anagram and Gabriel has 6 letters not nine.

I am posting a reward for anyone who can get me a lock of Clematis`s hair, or clothing anything that will make a voodoo doll more personal.

    And needles.

Right - I've put in Archangel as the answer. I'll let you know when I get the results.
Thankyou to everyone who pitched in.:thumb:

There's probably a job lot of voodoo dolls out there that relate to me - I'm always doing this sort of thing to people and then just like you they can't get it out of their heads. It's usually a tune - be grateful I can't write music!!:D

Don't think archangel is the answer it's not the name of a plant Claire if you read my post previously it would have saved googling your socks off or chewing your arm off, new archangel is now called sitka hence the answer sitka pine (sometimes called sitka spruce) sitka pine totals 9 letters unless the answer has to be one word.

That what threw me, screwed me up because I know the state flower is the forget me not-I can`t tell you the times I tried to get myosotis stretch to 9 letters. Archangel Gabriel is supposed to have something to do with reminding people of Gods message or their vocation or something like it-vague Catholic school memory. And I think it has to be one word Walnut.

White, yellow and red archangel are alternative names for some members of the dead nettle family, but apart from the New Archangel connection mentioned by Walnut it seems a bit tenuous.

Unfortunately I didn't win though. But thankyou for all the help.:flwsml:

Thank heavens my arm is safe. The problem with cryptics is that they can really really hard, and they can also be just plain puzzling.

Although I hated it I also enjoyed it, so anytime give us another go.
