I felt the same way about my back garden but eventually thought enough is enough and got some gardeners in... best decision i've made. I had quotes for �£5K but these guys did it for �£3K and made a top class job.

Have you considered having a multi level garden and putting all that earth to good use... you can use garden sleepers to build retaining walls then do whatever you like with each level... sleepers are cheaper than you'd imagine too (about �£15 for 8ft lengths)
