Brian, I just can't see how you can prevent some splashes on the leaves, I'm just the same in my greenhouse with the condensate on the glass and I'm heavy handed when I water, it does splash every-where - it's impractical to be otherwise, although in the past I've put some watering tubes at the side of each plant to try and get water directly to the roots. I used plastic drinks bottles with the ends cut off - and filled each bottle every morning. I didn't think it was a success as the soil surface was very dry which is where the tomato plants feed from - it might be an option for you next year as a more practical way of watering.

I have a pane removed to increase ventilation and the rain gets in mine (however we have had hardly any rain to speak of for weeks and weeks).

 

Tomatoes don't like high humidity which it appears you have as you say you are getting condensation dripping on them.

I prefer to keep my greenhouse door open all the time in the summer (day and night) and make sure the vents are open all day and some (or all, if it is very warm) open all the time.

Of course, if you are growing cucumbers as well then it can be difficult because they prefer humidity.

 

You are right about the humidity shiney but very difficult to achieve in practise with small greenhouses (im my experience). I know you have a nice big greenhouse which must help due to the larger volume. I have two small greenhouses for my toms and cucs, but still find it very difficult to keep low humidity in the tomato house even with vents and door open all day/night and a pane of glass removed. :thumb:

 

Thats a shame Brian. I know how frsutrating it is to lose a crop, fingers crossed your Bayer spray will prevent it getting any worse, if not give Bordeaux Mixture a go.
