Thank you everyone for your replies, I'll have a look at those apps and also at adding my location to my name on the left as most of you have got. I think it's all very exciting watching and nurturing these plants to grow and now I can read about other adventures and tell you about mine too - brill :ThankYou:

Hi Carrie, I honestly do think you'll like it:snork: Some of the gang are "slightly" crackers, not me of course, and you might need a wicked sense of humour now and then. If and when you can could you post some pics of your garden, and info on what direction it faces, the type of soil [stony, clay, sandy, loam] just to give us all an idea:coffee::snork:

I will have a go at putting photos on tomorrow. My garden faces East and is split in half by a Weeping willow, the soil the further away from the house is clay but seems less clay but still not sand the closer to the house. The bottom of the garden was very boggy (the lawn too) so we have dug down and replaced an old 1930s land drain that was leaking as well as adding a sump - this really has helped the ground even with the wt weather we've had. ;)

I love my garden but my photography isn't great - probably why I have joined a gardening forum not a photography one (I'd put a smiley here but I've lost them since moving to the app, no IT forums for me either!)

Clairie, what a lovely sized "canvas" you have there,
looks like you have some secluded areas too - to retreat to, when the world gets all too much.
What do you want to do with your garden?

Welcome to Gardeners Corner, Claire :blue thumb:

I don't do apps, but I *do* have the same tendancy to go out to pick a weed and the next thing I know, my family's tummy thinks their throat has been cut:redface:

                      Hi everyone, thanks for replying.

Jenny Namaste, we don't really know what we want to do yet. I'd like to section off in front of the greenhouse and have behind as a fruit and vegetable garden. I did fancy a white picket fence but now I'm liking the idea of a low box hedge that's offset so we can walk through.

As for the rest I want to keep the Weeping Willow as I love it and I want to watch for a year just maintaining while we see what the garden does.

We are very keen on getting wildlife into the garden especially birds, bees and butterflys.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

                      Clarie

I have a very packed garden, Clarie, with as many plants in it that are attractive to insects of all sorts as possible. I also deliberately grow two patches of Nettles in out of the way places in the garden to provide food plants, and egg laying plants for the Butterflies, Hoverflies etc which seems to have worked nicely as this year has been a very good [if a little late] for them. It might pay you to do a bit of research to find out the insect attractive plants and shrubs.......and then decided which you would like in your garden.
