i Charlie, nice to meet you

following on from Kandy's post, perhaps if you increase the treats you are leaving (nothing fish based, normal cat food is perfect) your new friend will fatten up and go into hibernation?

Hi . Nice to meet you too ! If you double click on the video above you will see our little chum is ........ Well rather on the large side ? He usually visits in the wee small hours but we have seen him through the patio window late in the evening when he sets the security lights off. Now I may be new to this here gardening but this is the biggest hog Ive ever seen ! I see lots of them as Im away early doors to work and the lanes round by us seem to have lots of them. We get deer in the lane outside the house and there is a badgers set under a tree just across from us so we are very fortunate to see much wild life ! We love it

As above Jenny we just call it a he.. Not even sure why ! But yes he certainly is a big healthy specimen but he has a variety of slugs to go at and of course the odds off the bird table and the cat food we put down for him..

Here is a clip of him leaving under the side gate.

We are unsure if he dwells inside or outside the garden. Possibility is he nests under the summerhouse at the top of the garden or in the log store round the side. He does seem to go under the gate a lot though. I have avoided shifting the logs at the back of the store just in case he is under there. But I think he has made his nest under the summerhouse as it has a solid wooden floor and is sat on the same gravel he digs so easily to get under the gate.

      The summerhouse.

That footage is fabulous!! I didn't think they could get through gaps that small :wow:
I'm going to build a hog house on my new allotment (just decided!)

By the way, that's a nice sneak peak at your garden, be prepared for lots for photo requests, we love pics around here :snork:
