Victoria has some beautiful shades of hibiscus and is so lucky having access to a good range of colours. I'm wondering ,do any members know if their Is supplier s anywhere here in the UK who stock these seed please ?

I get a lot of my plants, including the Red and Yellow Pagodas from Adrienne in Spain. I don't know how it is sending to UK but you could ask.

Thank you , I'd had this info from you a while back and unfortunately after contact a couple of times I did not hear anything so I'd presume their is no joy for the Uk customers which is why I'd wondered if their was a similar contact for seed here in the UK.

I would only be intrested in seed as I think it is the cheaper option to ship ,

I too have not heard anything from or heard of anyone having any contact with our dear friend Philip , Sadly I fear thhe worst

 

The last email I had from Philip he was saying
he had been to the undertakers .
Shortly afterwards he emailed saying he was going into hospital hoping to find out which type of hernia he had . This was rhe last Ihad heard from him . I know he had been in pain and out of action for a while .

Yes like many on this forum he was a good friend ( not met but someone you felt you knew so well.)

I miss his contact from across the pond ,Foxy molly too I hope someone is caring well for her..

 

Sorry it is slightly off topic (but we can get back to that) but I am also wondering where Philip is, I used to enjoy his posts. That's the trouble with on line friends, when they disappear it leaves us wondering. The last post he made was in October 2023 on a thread I started about my garden - Mike's evolving garden.
I hope he's all right.

 

The Okra I read was related to The hibiscus family .,must admit The creamy white flowers with The dark black centre is very similar The The first photo of your Hibiscus Victoria named.double Red, is this the true colour ?
It looks like a gorgeous Dusky Pink .
Makes me want one even more

 

Yes @Purple Streaks,, that is the true colour (as best my old phone camera does and it does not capture really true, they much stronger in reality)/

\shame the colours do not come out as vivid as in reallity.

 

I know it is tempting to buy the actual plant ,but I enjoy the challenge of growing from seed.I have seen quite a few of the seed being sold on ebay. . I've only ever sent for seed twice from ebay. The first time after 8weeks and getting no seed I did contact the seller. Who ever it was the email I received said on this occasion seed would be posted again which I received a few days later.

In a way this put me off buying from ebay.

But the info I've read with these sellers does sound emcouraging

I have had very good success from these folk in Italy with Adenium but have not tried Hibiscus from seed. so why not try ...
