Need to wait to see what it is.
Arisaema love cool, shelter, shaded areas ..while Cordyline would love it hot and sunny.

I agree. This is my "tropical" themed area. The wall and house means that the area to the right is rather shady whereas the area to the left and back is quite sunny...............

They're very easy to flower. You just need a big enough tuber. They are monocarpic but produce offsets freely.

I think they exaggerate about the pong, its not that bad.
Also, dont let it seed, it puts if off flowering for a couple of years if you do.

Leaves are now unfurling nicely ...
                    DSCF7258 (576x1024).jpg

Mine is producing new offsets pretty much weekly ...

                    DSCF7264 (576x1024).jpg

But, now I have a dilemma - see the fence post behind the plant ...

                    DSCF7263 (647x1024).jpg

... that needs to be re-set and the man is coming tomorrow to do it. As you can see, my triffid is very close to where the work needs to be done. So ...

... can I move it? Or will that kill it? I have a pot spare that I can put it into temporarily :noidea:

Not now. Put a dustbin over it maybe?

Ok ... I'll find something to put over it to protect it.

But, if not now .... when?

When they've gone dormant, usually September time.

                          Thank you @longk

Well, I don't have a dustbin to cover it with so I'm just going to have to keep my fingers X'd that he doesn't trample it tomorrow.

My thoughts now are: if the worst should happen, and it gets trampled to a squidge, at least the bit underground should still be ok and may come back next year.

After further work in the garden, Triff is still going strong - but it was a bit of a close shave :phew:
