Thank you, pip. It was / is a labour of love.

For the first four years, we spent all our "holidays" (1 x 12 days, 1 x 13 days each year) in slave labour here, having driven from England so we lost a total of four days in total each trip as we sailed into Santander.

My priority was infrastructure of the garden, clearing the scrub out and planting the two Jacarandas, Oleanders, etc, the first year. Each time back, it was back to square one.

It was a joy to go back to work (which was high pressure for both) but we needed a holiday desperately.

    We've slowed down now!

T'other half built the deck on top of the chicken run which is now The Baffa (an outdoor living room) and we spend every evening on the deck ... exquisite! The kitchen is the old donkey shed! :D

Do you plan on old like us or new build?

Guess you guys will be "looking" whilst you're on holiday? That's how we started in 1983.

Sorry, Kandy, missed your post ... your friends are certainly having very pleasant weather here and I can't imagine why they would want to log on! Different for me because I live here! [IMG]

Sounds good, pip. Are both couples / families going, or does sister live there already?

Think we're invading this thread, but nobody else is speaking ... so who cares? [IMG]
