Would you think of doing that, Rosa? I'm not sure I'd want to live there.... lovely to visit, but.....

Wasn't it one of the places affected by the Boxing Day Tsunami a few years ago? Is that what the new building is about - replacing damaged ones?

dend we wouldnt its not as simple as that as from june they have awful monsoons, you have to live there over a year before you buy very complicated, ok buying a place and keeping it as a holiday home.
the new houses are not replacing damaged ones, a couple from england bought the land for a poor family and then they have to build their own house

Hi rosa, I am really enjoying looking at your photos, they are of great interest to me, we have been invited to a wedding in Chennai sometime this year not sure when exactly yet.
We hoped to spend a week or so in Goa.
Also my grandmother was born in India and I somehow feel drawn to the place, (if that makes any sense!) Keep them comming [IMG]

Some lovely shots, rosa. I love the animals.

What do they do, build the houses with broken bricks? Seems like it with that dump truck! :D

That's interesting, dalbuie, my great-grandmother was Indian and my father was born in Burma.

this is one of the resident dogs that hangs around the restaurants, this one was very friendly but apparently i was told that all the wild dogs are on the beach and when monsoon season starts in june all the wild dogs come up into the neighbourhoods and cause havoc obviously they get fed from the beach shacks and with the wind and rains ,the sea covers all their area and they have to move for cover and look for food, they become a nuisance with the locals and their own dogs.
One was chasing and playing with the cows and i started taking pictures of this particular dog and it grapped my beach bag and nipped my leg was chased off by a resident, must admit i was a bit frightened of it.
