No foreign climes for us either, doing as many trips to as many places in the UK as we possibly can in our recently purchased campervan! Had a weekend near Kidderminster already, off to just outside Malton in N yorks on saturday and have booked weekends in Leics. Notts.and Lincs. already. Just finalising plans for 9 days in the Cotswolds and also a whislestop tour up the east coast, hopefully right up to John o groats before returning down the west coast in July(If the van is up to it!!)

Also a quick trip down to Dorset and Cornwall to visit friends some time in october hopefully!

    Bermuda bay-bay :D

Very excited, to an extreme level.

That'll be Juneish time, still finalising whos having the cats, as we thought John [the guy who is living with us] would be around to have Shelby [his own moggie] and Artemis, but turns out hes off to Holland at the same time and thought we'd have Shelby for him!

It wouldn't be so hard but Artemis is an indoor cat and gets bored so very easily with no company, so might need to find a home for her while we're away. Anyone want a cheeky monkey for a fortnight?? Paid in Bermudan Rum and hugs :D

Shelby would be fine as our lovely neighbour Wendy will pop over everyday for dindins.

Rats are going to my friend in Glouscester who already has 40 of her own, so she knows what shes doing!

Always an almighty upheaval when theres animals involved, but so worth it and looking forward to it.

Julia, New England in the fall is fantastic. They call the people that go there to see the colour 'leaf peepers' [IMG] .

Now that Pittsburg has been cleaned up it is a lovely city. There are lots of HQs for industrial firms and some of them are interesting architecture. The HQ of the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company is made entirely of glass and is a smaller replica of our Houses of Parliament. The university is also an interesting structure. If you have time the Duck Tour is pretty good. [IMG]

Strongy, I love their National Parks. Which ones are you doing?

In a couple of weeks we shall be off for a few days touring the gardens in Dorset. Then walking in the Lake District for a week in June and September. We haven't decided yet where to do our winter globe trotting.

Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Zion NP and Canyonlands NP, only a day or two in each as as they are only part of the tour.

Thanks for the Duck Tour tip, Shiney. I did the one in Boston a few years ago, and it's a really good way of "doing" a city in not very much time.

Strongy, Mr J and I went to Yellowstone and Grand Teton on honeymoon two years ago, and Zion the year before that. Teton is by far my favourite. I'd move to Jackson Hole any day (be sure to eat in the Gunbarrel Steakhouse if you can - you can almost order your meal off the wall...).

GlenW nothing wrong with Caravans or Motor Homes as they are now called. We have camped one way or another since we got married nearly 28 years ago and love it.Nothing better than travelling round this fantastic country of ours

I am glad that there are 14,000,000 people jetting off from terminal five each year at least it leaves plenty of room for the rest of us to travel round with plenty of clear roads. [IMG]

If you get the chance, then head for Mull on the West Coast.More beautiful scenery on the west side than the east coast and join The Caravan Club, they have some good sites in some fantastic locations.

We are off to my favourite island in July.Looking forward to it as well [IMG]

I agree Kandy, have done a fair amount of camping myself but this is the first time owning a campervan. We loved the weekend we've already had, despite 2 flat tyres and buckets of rain!

The cotswold trip is now all booked, have joined both the caravan club and the camping and caravanning club. Between them they cover everywhere and you are pretty much certain to get decent facilites. Amongst others, we are stopping at the Broadway site, so Paladin better be warned!!!! ;)

Will bear Mull in mind for the july trip, the plans are only in their infancy at the mo. We keep threatening my parents that we are going to call by Gretna on the way!! :D

Hi Glen, when I get Mr kandy to scan our Scottish Holiday photos then I can put them on GC but there are hundreds. If you get to Mull you won't be dissapointed.White Tailed Sea Eagles are on Island which we have seen and if you stay on Mr Gracies campsite {Sheiling Holidays} it is 200 yards from where the ferry docks at Craignure and there is a little railway that runs along by the side of the campsite.

Havn't been to John o Groats for years and Gretna was nice but full of coach parties and pensioners last time we were up there.

If you go to Scotland you will need at least two weeks to take it all in and be prepared for peaty water and plenty of fresh pure air that helps you sleep well, but don't tell all those who go abroad or else they might get envious [IMG]

did camping in Wales with the hoard last summer - it was lovely - except for the fog bank that sat over the camp site and refused to budge until the day we left!!!

LOL - you don't need a holiday - your life is one big one!!!! - But have a super trip to your Castle.....

After a lousy year so far, I have cashed in my very unsucessful premium bonds and booked a holiday in Crete for a week in May - the horrors can't wait!!All that snorkelling and the possibility of wild lizards and Gekos!!! - I have booked all inclusive, so no hunting/ gathering for a whole week for me - bliss..........(desperately trying to squeeze into my bikini now - only 7 weeks to go - eeeekkkk!!!!)
