    Hi Kathy,If you plan your holidays round the middle of July then you will have good weather unless you stay up in Scotland then there is no guarantee what you will get apart from bitten to death by the midges :eek:

    Hi Freddy,we shall get chucked off of here soon for hijacking LoL's thread.{sorry LoL}

    We like the Lakes,but always headed for Scotland apart from spending our honeymoon in the lakes,then I had to put my foot down because after 12 years I wanted to go somewhere different so we ended up on Wight,which we both love.We have never done CL sites.We have only been into caravaning since 1999 after spending most of our time in a frame tent and then a trailer tent which we had for years.

    I have always wanted to visit Austria and Switzerland especially for the alpine flowers but Mr Kandy isn't keen on going abroad.We did three weeks touring France with Eurocamp in 1998 but since then refuses to go abroad which is a shame.He is a bit like his parents in that respect.

    Sorry to hear of your unfortunate events.I am sure that given time you will eventually get back on track with those travelling dreams. [IMG]

    Hi Kandy - We will wave to you as you chug across to the Island - can see it from where we live, although we have only been over there once with the little darlings. (oops - and one freezing cold Sunday morning for a rugby match with youngest!! :rolleyes: )

    Borrowers - since booking, so many people have said how beautiful Crete is - we are so looking forward to it!!

    :) Have just come back from one of my favourite places in all the world....The Lake District.
    We had beautiful weather and fulfilled a long time dream by climbing that monster mountain Helvellyn.
    For us mere mortals it was indeed challenging and at times very scarey,considering three people have lost their lives already this year in their attempt and there have been several rescues as well.
    I have to say I proberbly won't do it again..But the feeling of euphoria after the assent was complete,was fantastic........
    Here are just a few of the pics. of the fantastic views etc.
    SteveR you are indeed lucky to live there and I know Shiney and Kandyfloss are great believers too.

    Wow, my dearest, that must have beem an experience and a half to say the least .... not sure I could/would have done such. :eek:

    Stunning scerery ... with your permission I may attempt a painting (NOT Mrs R's bottom I might add!) but the last photo is so ethereal and I'm going to try a new medium with painting in the coming weeks.

    Thanks for sharing your lovely experience. xx

    Hey Roders if your off on your Hols to Maderia be sure to take your camera with you, and go on as many excursions as you can, because it is such a stunning island, the flora and the scenery!! Well I will let you see for yourself. I would be interested when you get back to hear what you thought of the place. We go for a week every year, usually in November.We love it.!!:D 02
