Vicky, i thought somewhere on here you said you had booked the ferry for the 17th, must have got confused.:cnfs:

Honeybee, glad you had a good time in Cornwall, hope the redundancy doesn't happen.

I'm going to Corsica and Tuscany in October but a couple of weeks ago I was up in Inverewe. It was just gorgeous there. This is the fabulous vegetable garden there. It's 58 degrees north.

Will try to get back to this thread to see where all is going.

But to answer: Already in May we spent two weeks in Key West, Florida, at our favorite place for the last 9 or so years. Partied with friends, fished, searched for emeralds on Mel Fishers boat, and gathered freckles.

End of July, just a short trip to Ohio, 8 hour drive, staying about 4 nights for a Nippon Convention. My cousins live in Ohio, same area, so will have a family reunion with them then.
Mid-August, will travel to a new place for a week, up to Northern Ontario, Canada and stay at Chaudiere Lodge for lots of fishing, seeing Gods Country, river boating and relaxing. Please google the Lodge and notice the menu, the meals are included with a average fee and sound wonderful. I am really looking forward to this trip.
Mid- October we will travel to Orlando, Fl. and stay in a lovely resort near Disney World.
We will visit Disney World about 3 days worth I guess, have to buy the tickets still. The resort has so much to offer in the way of activities and restaurants it should be fun.
And that should be it for the year.

strongy, we were speaking in my Castles in the Air thread .... I said ...

"Madeira is not counted out but not booked ... it is t'other half's birthday on the 17th and the ferry we would be on arrives on the 17th mid morning. Found a really nice apartment near the port and we would take the car. Will keep in touch with you on this ... sounds an unlikely meeting ... passing ships and planes in the day .... "

We could go on the one that leaves Portimão on the 9th arriving mid-morning of the 10th, leaving Madeira on the 15th, arriving here on the 16th so home for the birthday.

    It's a 23 hour ferry journey.

Lots of holiday meetings going on here ... last week Shiney met up with Steve R in the Lake District and yesterday Sis met up with DAG in Essex. :)

Finally got my August Canada trip on You Tube. Not to many shots, as you can see I liked the flowers, what there were anyway.
The size of the world up there ---pictures don't do it justice.

    Looks good, Redstar :gnthb:

Since I retired eight years ago we have been doing what we always hoped we could do and are visiting lots of different countries. :yho:

In January we returned from touring through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong.

At the beginning of June we had a week of glorious weather in the Lake District and another glorious week there at the beginning of September. We have just returned from a family reunion long weekend in Paris and towards the end of the year we shall go touring again.

This time it will be through Indonesia to Australia. Amongst other places we shall go to Java, stay with friends on Bali and then tour round the north and east coasts of Australia visiting friends and relations on the way. Ending up in Sydney where I have a cousin (on my father's side of the family) and an aunt (on my mother's side of the family). My aunt emigrated there in the 1990's at the age of 70 :thumb:. It will be good to see her again.

We are trying to do as much world travelling as we can - whilst we are still able to get around :old: :hehe:.

All your holidays sound wonderful. A little envy of those already on the other side of the pond, closer to more historic places etc. Have a great time all, and be safe.
