Coach holiday? I went to Switzerland with the school, so a long time ago now (1967). We were based in Lucerne and one of the most memorable days out was a visit to the Bernese Oberland. Absolutely stunning scenery, you'll love it :blue thumb:
No holiday plans as yet as we're saving for a new kitchen, although we will be having some 'breaks' down at the caravan in Newton Abbot. Hopefully, a cruise late in the year :fingers crossed:

Well, we've just finished our first break of the year. We got back this week from our cultural tour of Cappadocia (Turkey). Cappadocia is quite a distance east of the normal holiday areas but still far enough away from Syria.

Having flown into the Mediterranean area of the country we had to drive up through the Taurus mountains to get to Cappadocia. We covered about 1,000 miles in the week. A great time, lots of interesting history and culture, good food, good hotels and lots of friendly cats.

We are going back to Turkey , Olu Deniz , early summer . In autumn we love the Canary islands.
I find the best thing about Turkey is Efes beer.
I find the best thing about Spain is San Miguel beer.

A couple of long camping weekends to the Morecambe bay area and North Wales for Molly :doggieshmooze:

It is very interesting to Bike there. I have started the tradition of biking with a martini in my basket.

                    Do you like beer? :heehee:

Olu Deniz is on a nice part of the Mediterranean coast :blue thumb:. We went to the back of beyond (not quite ) through two foot of snow in the mountains. There are some rather unusual places there :)

Sorry missed your post @Strongy about Mr K and travelling. He refuses to go on to Planes,Ships, large Ferrys,or even the Channel Tunnel train because he is worried that something might happen and he will lose his life.If he was the one driving,or steering the thing then he would be fine as he would be in control but as he is getting older he is getting worse hence one of the reasons we can never go anywhere abroad.I would love to go to places like Austria,or Switzerland or even up to the Artic Circle to see the Northern Lights but he just won't do it:mad:

His mother was even worse and didn't even like being a passenger in a car when travelling in the dark and when my FIL was driving she would always be poking him in the back to keep his eyes on the road:snork:

At the moment we can't book any holiday which has too much driving involved because of getting called back home in case anything happens to his dad.His dad was saying to us at the weekend that he feels like his life is coming to an end but as I said to him he won't be going anywhere until the Good Lord decides he wants him up there with him.He was happy with that:smile:

No holidays for us this year. Too much to do in the house, a garden to start and ... I usually go abroad on my own anyway :heehee:
Lots of wonderful places to see/visit in Blighty so that will have to satisfy my wanderlust.

May 1, flying out to Key West, Fl. need it bad. And I have to use up more vacation time in June, so now I have another two weeks to do something with. not sure right now, stay close (car trip) or fly somewhere. Want to use up a timeshare week, have to see what is open, and if I want to go there.

Haven't had a holiday since 2007 (unless you count a couple of days in Wales last year visiting fambly) and last time I went abroad was 2003 :frown:

I keep promising myself I'll take the dogs back to a cottage in Haverfordwest we rented in 2007 but then something else gets in the way and this year the patio cost and roof repairs has put paid to that. I have a week off in June and another in July, so will take the dogs on some trips out to the beaches in the Wirral or maybe Lytham St Anne's way.

Next year I WILL go somewhere. Probably. Maybe.
