Just a few shots from our recent break in the west country.

A lovely spot right on the county border in Exmoor. Somerset one side of the river, Devon on the other.

Robber's Bridge, not far from Porlock.

The North Devon coast near Lynmouth.

At the top of Sharp Tor on Dartmoor. A wind blasted hawthorn clinging on despite the exposed location and a heather flowering in a crevice in the rocks.

We visited a town called Stresa on Lake Magiore. It was like being at the seaside. It was lovely. I have piccies on my pic. I'll dig them out next time I fire it up.

The old stone clapper bridge at Dartmeet is very nice. It's a bit of of pig to get down to. The road is narrow and steep. There is a lovely little cafe. I think it's the Otters Retreat.

Yep, nice little spot. We called in there on the way up to Sharp Tor.

Best to go on a wet day, drove past it earlier in the week on a sunny day and it was heaving with tourists. :blue thumb:

Lots of coaches. 2 coaches and the place is snarled up. Best not to meet one on the road up/down.

We booked ours for next year too @shiney but not India! As we were offered free return taxi to Heathrow and kept at this year's prices we decided to book it now.
We may fly over Redstar's on our way to Denver!

A few companies do the free car service. The biggest that do it are Titan and Saga (they're now the same company and have their own fleet of vehicles).

one thing, totally missed when getting ready for my trip to Scotland . most hotels to not offer a face cloth. had I known would have packed a few cheap ones to just use and leave there. I dealt with it. used the hand towel instead. oh, well. that is the only thing I believe I did not get prepared for.
