Start my 13 days off work today. Packing, organizing etc. getting pedicure today. Met with my cat lady. Have a wedding to go to Friday. Saturday night we do a sleepover in Philly --near airport. then shuttle very early out for our flight to Cayman Islands. It is almost a 6 hour trip, with the two hours ahead to wait at the airport. like crazy. I hoping to pack so very little this trip. If the fashion police want me, for wearing same stuff during the week so be it.

      Enjoy Redstar!

Got back from Florida at half 5 this morning, brilliant trip! Walked my feet off round the Disney parks, flower festival in Epcot was good ..not amazing..and went to the new Avatar world, Pandora in Animal kingdom. Queue for one ride was 5 hours! Lucky we had fast passes for it! Slightly gutted we didn't do Universal Studios but we did get to see the Space X launch!! Glad to be home though :)

Was there about, 6 years ago, also not amazing over Epcot. we liked Animal Kingdom. Also went back about after Harry Potter world opened up, with a Harry Potter fan, loved that tons. Have to go back as it, since then, extended itself. Did that trip in November, when kids were in school, so less people. They were just starting to decorate for Christmas. Standing for 5 hours, I'd just about scream. So, next time I go, it will again be in any month kids are in school.

Just returned from a weeks holiday on the beautiful Greek island of Kefalonia . Just a lazy holiday, it did get a bit hot for trudging around site seeing . While there we had the dubious experience of two small earth tremors ! Sat by the pool one day the ground began to shake and there was a deep rumbling sound , it lasted about 4 seconds , but everyone went quiet and tentatively looked at one another. The following morning at 7am another tremor , the bed began to shake ! Mrs H said "what are you doing !" . I explained it was another earthquake but as normal she would not believe me , until someone confirmed it at breakfast
These small tremors are quite common in certain areas , we had one in Turkey a few years back. A full scale earthquake must be absolutely terrifying. Luckily in the UK the worst we can get is a strong gale blowing a fence panel out.

We went to the Lake District whilst you were sunning it in Kefalonia. :dbgrtmb:

We had a great time and met the occasional Hobbit whilst out walking.

Edinburgh is a great city to visit , my stepson and his partner visited it two weeks ago and loved it. It will be very busy in August with the festival and the military tattoo.

yep, heard it will be busy. re-read my statement, I am not just in Scotland for 3 days, after Edinburg going North to tour the country coastline. and loop around ending up flying out of Glascow, for a 10 day trip. Will be with a guided tour, small group. Seems they left time for soloing it, which is good. Several one day sleeps in each place, hope I can do that. Never did one of these type tours before. Will pack as light as possible.

Will be saying several hours in Glascow, before my plane out, so anyone near and want a meet up let me know.

P1150680.JPG @redstar the giant Pandas are on show at Edinburgh Zoo if you were interested although it is best to book the time slot on line if you decided to visit:smile:

We have just got back from eleven days down in Worcestershire walking the Malvern Hills and exploring the area in general visiting NT properties at Croome Park and the Brockhampton Estate whee the highlight for me was getting some nice Juvenile Swallow photos when they were being fed by mum/dad.After lunch we drove to Leigh Court Barn (English Heritage) to visit the largest Crick-framed structure in Britain at 150ft (46 meters)in length :rolleyespink:

Didn't get the thunderstorms that were forecast for last week but did get torrential rain Friday teatime and felt sorry for all the holiday makers who were just arriving nad still had to set everything up:heehee:

We are off to York in the morning staying with my cousin for two nights, Tuesday we will be going to Bempton Cliffs RSPB hopefully to see Puffins and Gannets and other seabirds.

Wednesday over to Buxton for two days for some walking, an area we have never been to.
