    Beautiful Dim, just beautiful :dbgrtmb: :snork: And gym instructers do tend to give slightely different versions of advice, even mens health magazines do some times its trial and ever i think what ever works for your own body.

    I wont use ebay Madahhalia and i cant find them on amazon, im just destined to get mugged off by HnB for the rest of my active life :cool:

    Why won't you use ebay? - you'd be saving a tenner straight off on your first purchase.
    Just curious!

    Bodybuilders routinely use protein supplements to get "the look". It's probably better for you than using steroids.

    I still don't agree that routine use of vitamin pills benefits anyone much except the manufacturers. If you are eating 5 a day (and the government would prefer 8 a day but they know they've got no chance with 90% of the population) then you probably will be eating a couple of kg of rabbit food a day. I don't see how it can be a helpful adaptation for the human race if we are chronically unable to obtain sufficient nutrients from a normal balanced diet. And dark pee is bad news to me at any time - means you're dehydrated or processing and excreting too many minerals, quite unnecessary.

    Ebay drives me crazy its one big headache waiting to happen i wont use it. There is too much going on on the site if i knew how to use it i would and maybe i would like it but i dont and i wont even try.

    sounds like you are speaking for many? ... that normally indicates that someone is 'unsure' when they make statements like that :WINK1:

    but jokes aside, if you lead an active life, do gym/sports etc, you become more aware of good diet and try to eat healthy ....

    and if you don't lead an active life, chances are high that you don't eat properly, so a vitamin suppliment is beneficial aswell

    and more and more people worldwide (including the UK), are now buying vitamins ... sales are at an all time high in the UK ...

    but like with everything, there is good and there is bad .... the more expensive brands tend to be the healthiest ... the solgar omnium that I recomended, is marketed as a food suppliment

    you need to learn how to shop on ebay .... that is my 1st port of call when I want to buy something ..... there are lots of bargains

    Hmm. Not quite/always. Having just had (and still got) kidney stones, apparently one of the main causes of kidney stones is regular consumption of vitamin C tablets.

    Not that I take vitamin tablets mind, I blame my (calcium oxalate) stones on drinking about a litre of cranberry juice a day for the last 15 years (because it's "healthier" than cola ... pah, that worked out then :) )

    sorry to hear about your kidney stones .... my brother has that a few years ago ... he woke up in the middle of the night and thought that he was dying ... he got is sorted quickly with some type of ultrusound technology (or similar)

    I never checked the date and that was just a quick google .... :doh:

    but tests were done back then, and it was proved that vitamin C was safe .... I don't think that the chemical formula for vitamin C has changed since 1999?

    Eh? You can't source 4000 calories per day in the form of normal food and drink? I'm overweight and I would absolutely love to be in a position where I can't physically get my calorie requirements. I once worked out I was getting through 3500 calories per day while I thought I was dieting.

    I didn't say protein bars damage your liver, I said excess protein can damage your liver, wherever it comes from. Do a bit of research, I think I'm right on that but I could be wrong.

    Also, I hate to be the one full of doom and gloom, but I know quiet a few people who did the old eating and training to gain weight in the form of muscle, they did it about 20 years ago when we were in our youth. One of my mates, who became very good at martial arts, so much so that his club got him a one to one trainer to take him up to international competition standard, told my mate in no uncertain terms to lose about 4 stone of his muscle, as it would only slow him down and put strain on his organs. Most of the rest of the old group are frankly in a shocking state now. Its not nice to see your old mates showing signs of old age ailments when they're not even 40 yet. Of course that's the extreme, to be fair the must wrecked ones did do the old steroides too, and I'm not saying that a bit of weight training will destroy anyone. My point is only that it is easy to get carried away when you're in your prime and no matter what you do, there seems to be no consequences.

      No i cant actually clueless. breakfast i normally have weatabix with milk no sugar, some fruit and about an hour later nutella on toast. Dinner normally have beans on toast or chicken salad pasta or summet then have protein bars before i train, the only big meal i ever eat is at tea time. Eating light meals and snacks suits me better coz i tend to move around a lot.
      I dont get any calories from my drinks at all unless its a protein drink as i only drink water now or i have a lucazader sport when i go the gym. I dont like to just eat as much as i possibly can like some people who go the gym do, coz then you get fat and unhealthy. If i wanted to get all my protein from food i would spend half my time sitting on the couch bloated from the heavy meals im having to digest. The only people who i have ever met in my entire life that knock protein bars for "real food" are people who do very little physical work and have never been into a gym before :snork:

      I have never heard of anyone ever being told by a doctor they eat to much protein unless ofcourse its because you eat 6000 calories a day and do nothing. Have heard of protein deficiency though.

      would it not be better buying a big tub of stuff (think it's called Whey) .... might be cheaper than buying protein bars?

      our gym sells it and it seems popular with the guys who do bodybuilding
