    i didn`t mean they should take it to school [​IMG]

    Although, it wouldn`t be such a bad thing if they could.. teaching kids how to grow things and recycle etc would be a fun subject..much better than maths anyway ;)

    Hi Hex.
    You've just reminded me that we had a Rabbit Club when I was at primary school in the late 40s early 50s. The "big" children got to look after them and us tots brought in food. We also had a school garden as did many Junior Secondary schools until about 25 years ago.

    "Eco-Schools" is now the in-thing up here and schools are once again starting kids gardening and involving kids recyling earns brownie points for your school. (The Health & Safety paperwork involved is unbelieveable though)

    I had a colleague who got his PTA to fund a big greenhouse about 15 years ago and he sneakily managed to heat it via a spur from the school CH system. They made quite a few bob selling their tomatoes. Regretably a new clerk of works discovered his heating diversion and our local authority officers put the clamps on it.

    Personally I think he was due a medal for initiative!
