Horsetail

    Shiney has it bob on. There are companies out there that can spray the areas to control it, but ridding of it completely is near enough impossible. I have had one near enough sucess story due to digging. I dug the life out of that border, literally about 3ft deep until it was spotless. I then continued to turn the area each day or two for a number of weeks before planting up. So far so good, but I am expecting a return.

      Wetting agents aren't much good for horsetail. :sad: You need to break/bruise the surface of the plant so that the killer can penetrate. That's why they recommend bashing the plant with the back of a spade. This bruises and breaks the surface so that the killer can penetrate.

        That's the way I do it crush and glypho spray . That and regular picking Seems to keep it in check . Mares tail is really a living fossil , been going for over 100 million years ! So it will see most of us out , and probably the human race . Just be them and Shiney in another 100 million years :biggrin:

            This is what I had to contend with some years ago. Mostly clear now but more difficult to treat when there are nearby plants you want to keep :)
