Only used the hose up till now for topping up the pond and filling water butts.( for use on pots etc.)
Very rarely water the garden as such, sometimes the veg if things get really dry at crucial times for anything in particular.

I'd certainly not pump gallons of water on beds and borders it's pretty much pointless and downright expensive in my opinion.
This is the UK folks and it always rains at some point.;)

Been watering the garden for a while now as no rain also. What with the sun we have had I have been watering every other day.
Not sure if it is related but my passion flower which is about 10 years old and one of my clematis next to it are looking very sad. The leaves on passion flower are going all brown and looks like dying, the clematis also looks sad. I did read that the passion flower likes its head in the sun and feet in damp conditions.
I think the dry conditions are what is causing my problems. Still last night we had some very heavy rain for about 2 hours and some rain today. Hopefully we will have a lot more. I did hear the dreaded D word mentioned on the tv a few days ago. They say plenty of water at moment but are monitoring the situation so it could be watering cans only this summer.
Last time we had to use watering cans I purchased a unit which fills 4 watering cans at same time, saved a lot of time.

Tell that to my neighbours during the last 11 weeks. :nonofinger: :th scifD36: :snork:

We actually got a very little rain last night and the forecast is for .5mm tomorrow. I wouldn't hold my breathe!

We got a nice steady drizzle from late morning to mid afternoon . Just what the lawns needed. I reseeded and top dressed my front lawn today. Night temps are up to 10°c and light showers daily for the next week. So perfect for grass seed - I hope !

Had a really good downpour this afternoon. Lasted about 45 minutes and has left puddles on the lawn, which is so dry it is cracking.
