I was going to draw attention to this post, but went off to shut down the polytunnel

It was that 'recent post' bit that got me as it was simply an advert by Sean Lade:

        advertising his products.

So what do we forum users do now with spammming, report for deletion or attempted extraction of donations?

And can their 'endorsements' of their own products be removed?

When we had our ban in 2010 (yes, we had a hosepipe ban in Manchester), just before it started I filled a plastic dustbin with a hose, which I left just inside the side gates, so that I could water the garden at the front without having to walk right to the back of the garden where the water butt was each time. Saved my legs and back!

They have been saying on the news that lots of freshwater fish are having to be caught from out of the rivers and taken to areas where there is deeper water because the fish are starting to suffer due to the water levels dropping too far so lets hope they manage to help enough of them...

Oh and we are due a millimeter of rain over the coming weekend so must make sure we have everything in place to catch it....:snork:

With the onset of a Water shortage, was it wise for Monty Don to embark on that monster of a Pond/small lake in the new series?

So we are ALL in the clear then with exemption 1.

Using a hosepipe on the lawn and garden to clear away cat/dog faeces

                Toxoplasmosis from cats courtesy wikipedia
During the first few weeks post-exposure, the infection typically causes a mild flu-like illness or no illness. Thereafter, the parasite rarely causes any symptoms in otherwise healthy adults. However, those with a weakened immune system, such as AIDS patients or pregnant women, may become seriously ill, and it can occasionally be fatal. The parasite can cause encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) and neurologic diseases, and can affect the heart, liver, inner ears, and eyes (chorioretinitis). Recent research has also linked toxoplasmosis with brain cancer, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Schizophrenia.

Toxocara Canis from dogs (courtesy wikipedia)
The main danger to human health in dog faeces is the presence of the eggs of Toxocara Canis. This is a roundworm which lives, harmlessly, in dogs but presents severe danger to humans. A dog can pass 15,000 eggs in just one gram of faeces. Toxacara can also spread through unwashed vegetables as they can live in the soil long after the faeces have disappeared, even up to three years. There are two ways that the ingestion of Toxocara eggs can harm humans.
The first is when a large number of eggs hatch inside the body. The spread of the larvae often lead to extreme fever and illness. This happens because the human body rejects them and tries to pass them through the liver. The second way that these larvae can harm humans is much more dramatic. If a single larva invades one of the body's most delicate structures, such as the retina, severe damage can occur, leading to severe visual impairment or total blindness.

So it is exceptionally important we hose this off our lawn, garden or veg patch DAILY

It's a drop in the proverbial ocean really, gcc, when you think of the still ever prevalent leakages from the mains pipes of the Water Companies, the wastage from industry and domestic usage. I think at the very least the pond/lake will be a boon for the local wild life.:snork:

He can then use a foot pump (or electric) to water the plants and then refill using a hosepipe (as per allowed usage) - who'd - a - thought - it!:nonofinger::mute:
