    Hi Nut
    Hostas die right down for the winter and as redstar says they will increase in size when they come again,
    When they reappear in spring they always startle me, you will suddenly see this green lump and wonder what on earth it is ,then watch it unfurl to your beautiful hosta

    O2, if you hate them that much, leave them on the side of the plate. Or add salt.:cool::D

    OK, well they need to go dormant. So put them in the corner outside for the winter in a well drained pot.

    If they are small plantlets you may find they will need the heat of the sun on their pots to get them going. I had a batch of fresh plantlet varieties delivered one November and it took a good deal of sunshine to get them to wake up the following year.:)

    Well BM, guess one day you will have to see all my hostas that come up like gang busters every year in this very shady property. And this is old guys and newly split and new variety etc.

    Mine were from an online catalogue and disappointlingly small. This is my hosta bed in 2006 I think, but needs splitting really.

    Very pretty. If your going to get another variety, I would suggest "Sum of Substance" you need a good yellow.
