    Hi Guys
While out dead heading today i noticed my hosta has thrown up a new flower spike , i have never had one do this so late before ,is it because it was potted out in its permanent position in march this year, and i have been feeding well as i was not sure how the soil was ,but i haven`t fed since beginning of september.

    Banana Man, wonderful Hostas there.

I have 5 (or 6 maybe?) different varieties which I grow in pots to keep said slugs at bay...all except Hadspen Blue which someone once told me are virtually immune to slugs. I have it growing in the border and this person was right, the slugs haven't touched them.

Now, tell me, is it sad to keep a list in my wallet of which varieties of hostas I have, so when I "happen" to be in a nursery, I can buy another new one?

Yep, got that one, or two? Hadspen Blue. Too many years too many plants, I just keep adding, adding adding.

The only way I'm prepared to keep hostas is in a container. I have had enough of the slugs making a meal of them.

I love hostas and keep planning to increase the number I have but that will mean I need to buy more pots.
