Our wee man has the luxury of air conditioning when it gets really hot - he has the choice to be in an air conditioned room, rampaging around the back garden under the shade of the trees, loafing about on the sofas and he can even do a wee bit of sunbathing if it takes his fancy. The really good thing for us is that when we are out and he is home alone, I have the Hive set up to email me an alert when the temperature indoors gets to 25ยบ or above - if the air con is running, he will be fine as he has cool refuge if he wants it - if its not on, I can pop home and put it on and/or get him outdoors for a while. All of our pavements around here have grass verges between them and the roadside too, so he can avoid walking on tarmac (not that we would take him out in the full heat anyway).

    Interesting thread.
Just wondering how animal get on just a little bit further south.
Lets face it, you dont have to go more than a couple of hundred miles into France etc. and its always hotter there than here in the summer.

Do French cats not have ears?
    Only joking.

I think because we are pretty cold most of the time we just get our knickers in a twist once things warm up a bit.
And most animals are probably more adaptable than us humans, who hate it below 15C or above 25C.;)
