Sadly fell out of favour with Gardeners world forum., Truly a great bunch of members but, seems that perhaps I was a bit too heavy. I still love and appreciate the friendship etc of those kind friends.

So who am I. I'm a 75 yr. old. Lost my beloved wife after 49 yrs of happy marriage in 2010. I am retired from secular employment having from the early age of 5yrs, been interested in horticulture. A former Dep. Parks Superintendandt. Then head gardener and head of gardens, MOD. I am a fully qualified gardener and groundsman, having been trained under the GLC and UCL London. I have been a fellow of the RHS since the 1960's. I am a member of several gardening societies. I am a fellow of the Linnean Socy. Lond. I also hold an elected membership of the Royal Microscopical Socy. The British Society of plant Pathologist and many more.

My love for gardening and the flora and fauna holds for me so much. I wish to share.

 

Welcome Mike. That's certainly a long list of qualifications you have. I think the rest of us may as well resign from Gardeners Corner now and let you take the hot seat.

I did like this forum, come across as I was searching for info on green houses and I am glad to say I got overwhelemed with very useful suggetions on the same.

Googled gardening forums and you came up near the top

 

I was googling about poly tunnels and happened upon this site, joined and feel at home.
My parents were gardeners and I was working long hours to keep my family, so garden became gravel for 7 cars ( auto family ).

I only had 1 job but lasted for 28 years until I got ill and had to retire as 44 years of age, now family have flown and have downgraded to a larger house and large garden as you do.
So now we have a fenced wil area and a fenced veggy plot, due to a very nosey dog who should of been called wreck it Ralph.

 

Googled for info on making a warming bed for seeds, some great useful hints.
