Yup, it did do the trick - although it was touch and go whether the dogs would decide they liked the taste of skirting board garnished with mustard!

We had gaven them some lumps of wood to chew on, I suppose the fact they slid around made them less useful to abrade against than the fixed skirting boards.

No. But they made lovely hotdogs. Mustard infused.

I guess it saves a bit of time, just wipe your ham along the skirting board on the way out to work, pop into bread and hey presto - packed lunch.

Some friends of our youngest son had a Rhodesian Ridgeback from a puppy, (one like this).

Once when they were out "Hudson" took up all the carpet tiles in "his" room.
The only "toys" he had that survived, were a wooden sweeping brush and short length of washing machine rubber drain hose.

He liked to play hide and seek with them. When it was his turn to hide he'd stand under the stairs with his head in the angle of the underside of the stairs and the wall with his back-end sticking out into the hall and make little calling noises.
