    It's a sensitive area isn't it!
You could approach the National Trust to see if they would have a head gardener available in your area.

    Man pee only though!

There's a few things about urine I don't fully understand. Why do people add it? I mean the scientific reason, I know it adds activators but what in the urine is causing it to help break down the waste?

Also do people dilute it or do they add it neat? Fresh or Stale? Male or female? It's well known that women's urine isn't as good as men's, but does this myth hold any water?

    My two pence:
    • increase in wildlife (don't mention mice)
    • better for the environment etc
    • avoid running out of space in your normal bins
    • could decorate/make a feature of a dalek so not so ugly
    • advise of these deals on bins: http://www.getcomposting.com/
    • don't have to buy your own compost
I'm sure you already know but you may want to bear in mind that some councils provide a 'brown bin' for all garden waste completely free of charge. I put my slow composting stuff in it as it goes to the council composter (http://www.recyclenow.com/how_is_it_recycled/garden_waste.html) and use my own dalek for faster composting for my garden.

Are you wanting to promote home composting and or council composting?

No. I don't think it does. There is some stuff I've read about hormone levels, but I think its just to do with what hormones might be transmitted back to the growing crops - perhaps worth a Google of that.

Speculating, and I have no knowledge, but I seem to remember reading that contraceptive pill was causing high levels of something (Estrogen rings a bell) that was causing fish in rivers to mutate. That might be unwelcome in the vegetable garden if it survives the composting process and can be taken up by vegetables.

But I've seen articles that suggest that, other than the mechanics!, there is nothing better about man-pee. I'd be interested to know the answer though.

Nitrogen. Gets the bugs (bacteria initially) going.
