here's my first raised bed 3m x 1800mm drilled and pegged the top and bottom pieces of wood together for less movement,
went about 1.5 ft down and filled it with 10 bags of compost and turned it all over then planted the day after what do you think??

Its no good, I've run out of room !

More timbers are being delivered today to make additional raised beds.

I'll post some pics when there is discernible progress !!!

I have just started to change the supporting walls with sleepers and possibly the decorative fencing on the outer faces.
I grow veg in the larger middle plot and herbs and flowers and stuff in the others.

    Hi Oktarine,
There isn't that much really. I soon fill it by the time I've put the beans and peas in. [IMG]

:D Fingers crossed for that allotment eh Windy? It's the tidiness of John's plot that I'm really jealous of.

Just keep nibbling away at things. The weeds are a devil to keep on top of. Theres one type that just keeps coming back. Must take a pic and see if anyone can tell me anything about it. [IMG]

    Hi Oktarine,
Just had a run through your blogspot, impressive.
You obviously have the computer buisness well sorted, I have never felt the need for such a site as the curve is both gardening and computing but if I were to try I'd like very much to get close to yours. Well done.

    Hi,

I have not posted about my raised beds for a while, but after much good advice from this section of GC I opted for the scaffolding boards and topsoil. I now have 3 large raised beds with 2 small ones connecting in between, I should take a pic and post it. I ordered some lovely topsoil and it was a bargain as I bought locally so lots of veg seed has been sown already! I have also been using mesh to keep off pests and so far it is working well! I am really pleased with my first ever attempt at real gardening!

    Thanks Cothey, appreciate the feedback.

I am keen on computers, and trying to learn in the garden all the time.

Thanks to everyone for continued support and advice - I couldn't have got this far without all the help.

I'm also staggered that I've had over 300 visits to my blog this month alone.

I must be doing something right !

Watch out for Sundays update, you wont believe the progress !

    Thanks
