How do you pronounce this?

    [​IMG] I will proberbly regret this,but what is the significance of the word Japonica, I see it used in more than one instance.......

    And what's odd about "japonica" is that the Greeks and Romans, as far as I know, had no knowledge of Japan.... so somebody's been making up words !!

    This is getting dafter by the minute.

    But Roders - don't even ASK how orchids got their name!!! It's well...um...rather embarrassing!!! :rolleyes:

    I thought Whiskey with an E referred to Irish whiskey? Can anyone enlighten me?
    And while we're on the subject of orchids I was telling the Asst.Est.Mgr about the surgical procedure of orchidectomy. Strangely his little orchids disappeared :eek:

    Hyla-arborea, I need your help in French...
    You know the song :"je t'aime,moi non plus"...:has that "non plus" the meaning of "aussi"?
    "non plus" is it not supposed to be in answer to a negative question?

    "no more", I would say, MF. Doesn't realy make sense - are you sure those are the right words? It would make more sense if it was "toi non plus"

    I am sure about the words in French, but as I said I never quite understood the sense of the title.
    I think that we really need some
    French to explain it all...
