Aww kittens, they sound like very welcome new additions for you, they will certainly keep you busy and entertained and although won't replace your others, they will hopefully help you to remember the happier times, and I have to say I am sorry for your losses, what beautiful photos you have of them.

Our eldest cat is coming up for ten this year, and she absolutely dotes on our son, he's her person for sure, so if she has it her way, that's where she sleeps, curled up on his lap.

Then about a year and a half ago, a stray kitten turned up in our garden and adopted us! She is a crazy tortie, but she also loves to curl up purring in someone's lap. She also sunbathes and falls asleep on a bird table in the garden, haha. Thankfully she only watches the birds, never bothers them.

I have masses of birds in the garden, Sienna Blossom, and both of my Cats ignored the birds and I never had any losses. They even ignored the Hedgehogs who used to trundle out of the borders and across the lawn.

Well, lucius, my right hand is the one that looks like it's been in a mincing machine but my left hand is where Teasel also manage to sink her teeth into the fingers of my left hand! I was more worried about not hurting her at the time and once she was wrapped in the towel it stopped most of the bites and clawing getting home, but she even managed to claw my palms. I didn't want any infections from the clawing and biting so that's why I swabbed my hands heavily several times with Disinfectant, TCP, and Savlon and it looks like, apart from my hands looking a mess, it worked.
It wasn't her fault, she was just defending herself:dunno: It's a bit strange, as for the last week they've been hiding under the blanket on top of the Tumble Dryer but now, after the incident they have moved to sit under the Kitchen Table on the cushioned chairs. Now, I'm pretty sure that the smaller Kitten (Fern) isn't brave enough to make that move on her own so I'm assuming that it was Teasel that made the move and Fern followed.
Either way it's a step in the right direction as they're more out in the open and I can bend down to talk to them while they're in the "open" and while they can see me. :love30:

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!

You are a gardener so there is no excuse not to grow catnip. They'll love you for the odd little bit and it is something that would draw them out of hidey holes without the battle :)

I think, Lori, I've had enough "catnipping" that I can take for the week!!!!

I'm thinking that it would be more like a large piece of raw meat that would draw them out, Lori:hate-shocked::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

None of mine have ever paid attention to catnip. They don't bother with cat grass nor Nepeta of which I have three pots. The three pots are in the pic, two pedestals either side of the door and in the clay pot in the centre of the grouping.

Yes, both of my Cats never paid any special attention to it either:dunno:. Maybe, it's an acquired taste:scratch::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

There's only one finger on my left hand that's slightly sore, lucius, but otherwise my hands look a mess but aren't painful. I think I may have a scar or two to remind me but otherwise I'm okay. The Kittens are, right now, sitting right against the glass door and peering into Lounge watching any movement!!

After being in places where the RAF sent me, Lori, and also being born in the era where we played in muck and caught nearly every disease going in those days I think Scratch Disease wouldn't stand a chance............

Not for a good while, lucius:dunno:. I need them to come out openly, when I'm in the Kitchen, with confidence and no fear of me. To let them into the Lounge until then would create chaose and mayhem as they would run for the nearest hidey holes in the Lounge:hate-shocked::gaah:
I always come into the Kitchen normally but using my voice to warn the Kittens I'm coming in. Today they made for the top of the 6' Fridge Freezer and hid there, but after a while Fern, the small black and white Kitten showed her head above some plastic boxes on top and then worked her way down to a stack of large Astronomy equipment boxes still about 6' high and sat openly on top of them for around 5 minutes and then hid again.:heehee: Right now they're back under the Kitchen table on the cushioned chairs:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:
