As Jenny said there's lots going on to look at at. But for me the main features in the frame are the castle and church framed against that spectacular sky and I don't think they are really quite sharp enough. Otherwise a super scene!

Thanks Jenny,Armandll and Dave for all your positive and highly valued comments my friends,Dave the sharpness of the main features what can be done when taking the photo to improve this:) :ThankYou:

I know I could do it when processing but I would prefer to get it right first time;)

      Hi Woo,

Its a pleasing scene, well composed but I suspect that the HDR process has detracted from that rather than adding to it. Of course, thats difficult to say without seeing the original photo but I base that on photos we normally see from you.

As Sheal said the middle ground is pale or overexposed and I'm guessing that is also what Dave was hinting at too.

You have asked for advice on what to do "in camera" to improve this shot but before I would venture to do that I would prefer to see the original and know the shutter, aperture and ISO...and know what part was cropped off the shot.

      Steve...:)

Hi Steve thanks for that, but the original was used as one of the HD images and I never retained a copy, you live and learn, even at my age and in future will always keep the original:ideaIPB::redface:

A good clear picture Woo and a black background is always difficult to work with unless you pick the right foreground, which I think you have :) .....but, sorry about this, there's a black hole in the middle which doesn't do it justice, almost as if you've forgotten to add something, a third tulip perhaps.

It's a nice pic, Woo, but forgive me for saying so, a bit distracting subject wise. I find my eyes not being able to settle on any one point due to the different directions of the tree limbs and other detail. I can see what you were aiming for but the subject is too "busy" overall.:snork:

It's easy to be critical when one wasn't there, but I have to agree with Armandii in that it's a bit cluttered with no real point of interest.

The interesting objects, for me anyway, are the textures and colours of the tree bark and these possibly caught your interest too and led you to take the photo.

Having seen the possibilities from the luxury of my chair and with time to think, I'd like to try to capture the texture and colour of the bark on the main limb in a nice very sharp shot with out of focus background in portrait orientation. I'd also try a mono conversion - it might work too.

Sorry Woo, I have to agree with both Armandii and Dave. If you had sawn off the limb coming from the right hand tree that may have helped.
