Thats interesting. I bought a sony a300 in January and although I've been really pleased with it, I wish I'd gone for something that bit better. I'm seriously thinking now about selling the a300 and buying a Canon 50d which is what I really wanted in the first place. Do you think its worth all that money though?

50D is a damn good camera, and is getting into the realms of semi pro kit.
If you think you'll take enough quality pics to justify the pricetag, then of course its worth it.
Quality doesnt always depend on the camera,The lens is the most important bit.If you've got good glass on a bad camera, you can still do great shots.Low quality glass on a good camera, you still have low quality pics.
    IMHO,from what I've seen and read about the 50D,if I had the bucks,I'd swap my 30D for a 50D without thinking twice.Although I would prefer a 5D mkII.

I like your photo, but I think that it's a little too dark. I use Photo Impact as my editor and increased the back lighting by 100%. What a difference it makes and you can just make out the stems of the tulips as well. With your permission, I could show you the results?

Thanks Strawman and Robert they are both terrific Photos :thumb:,my main objective was to get rid of the fence panels in the Background.I think I had better spend more time on my images in future:dh:

One of the ways to throw a background out of focus is to use the manual setting, and here I am assuming that you took your image with a digital camera?

Hi Strawman Yes I use the Manual setting for 95% of my Photography,I get more control that way:) small apertures (F22) for Landscape shots and background sharpness and large apertures for out of focus backgrounds (f4-5.6) ect:)

          Hows this WOO ?

I adjusted the curves and levels, added a cooling filter to slightly lessen the reds, and bring out the yellows.Duplicated the layer, gaussian blur.Multiplied the layers, then erased the tulips first at 50%,then 75%.Just until the colours looked right..A quick burn on the background, and thats it.:thmb:
Now i just hope that the colours are right
