The rose softens it too much for menim afraid i like the starkness of industry if that makes sense

One of my 'I love York' pictures. Vibrance has been increased and the buildings on the far side of the river have been lightened.[IMG]

Two of my roses from my front patch. This picture I have added some texture to the background.

Not the best of shots Woo. I think it would have been better if the bird hadn't filled the photo and the one following behind hadn't been present. Focusing on the wings isn't so good either. Sorry, I don't like being critical but you have taken many better bird shots than this one. :)

@wiseowl, I didn't think this thread was being used anymore so I'm so pleased that you have triggered it off again.... I can see me posting some shots on here....

I went to my photography club last night and the evening was about judging... oh the photo's were just stunning... I don't think I will be putting any in very soon :heehee::heehee:

Its amazing what the judges see that you don't and I really learnt something on every photo shown :)

And sorry, I agree with @Sheal I don't think the last one was one of your better shots even if you took it from your living room chair :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Good evening A/B the problem with judges in any competition be canary's,gardening.art, ect is that they all see the subject differently, that's why there is always an odd number of judges, when I was on the circuit we all knew what different judges preferences were ,their are no two judges alike just like people they see entries differently, and we had to choose our entries to suit the judges that were attending on the day;)

I judged for over 10 years ie Canaries,Roses, photography and saw some unjust decisions for all sorts of reasons,as we know their is no such creature as a perfect photograph ,Rose or Canary,;)

Thats me I will get off my soapbox now:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

:yikes: :yikes: :yikes: 128 Entrants, 360 Images and 12 photos in the final :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

This means that the other 348 must have been terrible!!!:yikes: I think not :mute:

What's with the.... 'Wood Anemone' :lunapic 130165696578242 5: our GC friends present 100% better than that! :)

I think the judges need to go to spec savers!!!

I'm quiet shocked :thud: and :hapfeet:in hind sight....there is some hope for me out there :heehee:

If I'm being totally honest only 3 actually catch my eye :)
