That's a good offer. :blue thumb:

Otherwise, I will have them for sale, for charity, at the next Open Day (next May - if you're coming) for £3. I could put one aside for you.

We got a free one at a boot sale not long ago, as Thames Water were doing a promo.

We thought great, then we got the info about the salt water tablets.

I don't do this. Partly because I almost never have a shower, and partly because it is so rare for us to dry out up here, I think its happened twice in my lifetime to date.

No as we have a circulation loop on our hot water system, so if you want hot water you press a button, pump comes on which circulates the water through the hot water accumulator, and once the circuit is warm you run the hot tap / shower etc. :)

But that said, like Jiffy all our foul water goes through the digester thingie and is then used for irrigation of the garden :) but I dread to think what the capital cost amortised across each litre of irrigation water comes to!

Yes our's has to run for a few secs before we get hot water, that's why I got one of those Joey cans, but it was too much of a faff to use it and there was less then a litre of water before it got hot.

Soapy "grey" water would be fine for the plants, so perhaps divert the bathroom downpipe?

Mate of mine has perforated drainage pipe under his plot, which is connected to the bathroom downpipe - so it all irrigates from below-ground-upwards :)

Our shower uses quite a lot more water than that before the hot arrives. Although the Joey can became most useful when our washing machine kept going wrong. We had to drain the machine and I put the can under the drainage outlet. It filled it six times before it got low enough to be able to open the machine door.

Never had that problem when we used to take the washing down to the river to wash it! :old: :heehee:
