Hi Pal,sorry I didn't realise that everything was ok with your birds up until your holiday.As you say though it does seem strange unless the parents were predated and the chicks died of the cold.It does seem starnge though that only a few of the chicks were taken.Oh well better luck next year.I read in one of my bird books that Blue Tits only have one brood a year,usually a large one knowing that not mnay will survive through to next year
