    Should be able to get an empty Gas bottle from, freecycle or about £3 at a boot fair
    as Zigs states, the local tip are charging to take them, mind once they have them they do not let them go again (unlike DIM*s)

    I love BarBqs especially abroad, good quality affordable meats, and no stress of, will it pour down on the day

    Outdoor kitchens are the way to go, or so I read in the paper. Would suit me better to have a little outside cooker and a preparation surface outdoors, maybe under a canopy of some sort. It would be very pleasant heating my baked beans outside instead of in.

    Not sad at all. About 8 or possibly more, years ago I bought a double pack of those disposable barbecues from the supermarket (the sort that come in an A4 sized foil tray). Never did bother using them, within the last couple of years I dug them out of the back of the shed and gave them to a colleague who, I understand, used them have a go a home-smoking some fish he'd caught.

    I know some people love a barbecue - me? I've yet to see the point of them. Why do people go to all that 'faff' of buying one, buying gas or charcoal, fiddling about with it, filling your (and neighbouring) house and garden with acrid smoke, cart loads of food all over the place, mess about to find that fine dividing line between serving food that's either raw inside or cremated, then having to clean the thing or moan because it's been 'rained off' and on top of that, having to find somewhere to keep it (and all it's attendant equipment) on the 364 days a year when you can't use it? It's so much easier to use the equipment I've already got (i.e. a perfectly good and serviceable cooker), then to just put properly cooked food onto a plate and .... if the weather's decent, invite people to eat outside (if they wish).

    We have had about 20 , ate inside for most though . Remember the saying - make sausages while the sun shines :biggrin:
