Still act like I'm 20 - just ask my wife (and year old twins lol). The only
difference is I seem to have found a penalty spot on the top of my head,
that I'm sure wasn't there last week!!!!!

I'm about 37, but its of no importance. Age is a purely abstract idea.

I didn't have the option of being a gardener at 14, as I lived in a rented house with a small back yard at the time, but I helped my dad with his garden years before, and at 17 I had my own allotment where I grew veg until I gave it up when I was about 20 because by then I had university on the go, and I'd long since discovered beer and women, so between those three things I struggled to find time for my allotment so I gave it up.

Its only in the last few years that I've been getting back into gardening, and I really enjoy it, although I'm still not very good at it

My advice to you young grasshopper would be to stick at it. By all means enjoy your youth, but don't let the beer and ladies lead you too far astray, and above all, don't have any issues about being into gardening at 14, its a good thing, and if you stick at it, then it gives you another career option. Even if you have no interest at all in making a career of it, its a skill you might as well have under your belt just in case.

 

Redstar, in my neck of the woods everyone expects the bling to be fake. 'Are they real?' is more likely to refer to surgical enhancement.

 

Ryan, yes my age is real, mores the pity. But most of us on here don't act our ages whatever they are!

I think I've seen a young lady on here but she hasn't been around recently, I think she was 12, so no, you're not on your own.

Hi ryan.c, I'm 46 but don't like to think about it. :( I got married at 17 so got my first garden then. I also like wildlife in the garden, it combines well with my other hobby of photography. You'll certainly get plenty of advise here, even from the really ancient ones who've forgotten were they live.
