I'm not trying to be a douche, guys.

Just some remarks can be seen in the wrong light, and you never know, this lad's parents could view the forum if it's left on and think it's all a bit strange.

That is the trouble now a days
When I was young, I played out, football in the backstreet winter, cricket summer,
Long holidays off out from 08:00 to 21:00 off to the beach or the hills

Now it is if you are not sat infront of a computer, then the baddies are out there to get you and when you are sat infront of a computer the baddies are out there grooming you

What a terrible society we live in now, IF I was 23 now I would top myself, because if you do not live a free life and enjoy it, It is not worth living it, misery and suspicion

IF the poster is only 14 then the poster is more computer and gardening savvy than you or I would ever be (possibly not I, as I built my own computer and programmed it in 1981) and have used usenet from the day of it's birth

Not the Norm for a 64 year-old unless an electronics and network engineer

Everyone who posts has a unique IP address that can be viewed by anyone, therefore if I was to start a new ID and post as PeterPerfect It would still show that the computer used was JackMcH or in reality 34%^re£2££"hh1234&^)!
    We know who you are

Forget the seven ages of man (or woman, in my case) - my Gran maintained there are only two ages ..... old enough to know better and too old to care!

Well, I may be in the second category, FM, but more so because I am proud of my age and the fact that I am still a working nurse!

Good on yer, Ryan, don't pay too much attention to the chaps, they are just like a lot of gardeners - always good for kidding around!

          Good point Kyle,

I'd like to make it clear that the only grooming that goes on in Gardeners Corner takes place in the Pets or Livestock Forums:thumbsup:

as this guy said it was a simple joke. and where else to get experience but on the net and from the "older blokes" as you call it. im hardly going to ask a 4 old how to do the garden. and as for the people about my age im hardly going lie you don't have to assume when you've been told!!!.

Another answer I remembered from my Grandmother today was "As old as my tongue and a little older than my teeth"!!

Strip the outside skins off the stems & cook like asparagus.

The thistles that is, not the new members.:dbgrtmb:

Re thistles: we have a lot of silybum marianum that grow in our garden. They have variegated leaves and look very attractive until they get too big. They normally appear about early March andlook good for about six months.

Once they get to approx 3' wide they tend to look a bit straggly and the flower stem grows to about 6' with insignificant flowers. At that stage (when they're too big) we dig them out. They're vicious little b's :heehee: with very sharp spikes around the leaves.
