Just keep it frost free and not too wet, it will survive.

Yes have grown several over the years, Tallest I had was over 5ft but it sadly got left out by mistake and the winter took it.. My latest one is in the tunnel and about 8" high.. Pot plunged in between the Mulberry and Lime so fingers crossed.. :rolleyespink:
I have also found the easiest way to germinate them is in the compost bin.! :heehee:

If this one survives the winter great if not will be germinating more next year..

Well it’s not particularly warm but it is very protected and I will pop a bit of fleece around it if it gets any colder.. That was a compost bin germination BTW...

@Master oogway 420 probably a nice plant so long as you can keep the frost off it. No fruit in the UK.
Coming from South/Southeast Asia they are a tropical plant although apparently now grown in the Canaries and the southern coastal parts of Spain.

So would you describe them as random increases in entropy, planned outages, quantum fluctuations in the space time continuum or what.

The method I use is to place the bean (remove husk) inside a pot thats thouroughly wet and cover the top of the pot with cling film/plastic sheet and elastic band around it. I do it in the summer.

My mango trees never survive more than a few months, they are from commercially brought mangoes

                      • I germinated a mango seed earlier this year at the third attempt. It is thriving now, about 12" high. How big can I expect this thing to get as an indoor plant, and if it gets too big and I have to put it outside, will it comfortably survive a typical UK winter. Pretty tropical really, not likely to survive outside in winter.
                        Nice young plant.

I germinated an avocado too, at about the 5th attempt, lol. This one's doing even better than my mango. I think both are beautiful young saplings. IMG_20221002_105912_HDR.jpg

Well from what I've heard so far it looks like my mango and avocado are destined to remain indoors as house plants....trees!! Now that's worrying, lol.
