How to improve my hedge

    It looks like the garden is heavily shaded... that will slow down growth in general, so you probably need even more patience than most to get that big thick hedge you're picturing.

    Same goes for the lawn - being shaded it'll grow tall and thin, so keep it cut reasonably low, fed well and you should be reet :)

    Hi,

    The trees pictured are all on the north side. The garden is flooded in sunshine from morning to night. The pictures were taken around 9.30 pm which is why it's appears shaded. Thanks for the reply. Even since the pictures the great growing weather we are having has put a bit more density to the hedge although it seems to want to grow up not out. I've been keeping on top of it with hand shears but I think I need to invest in a small hedge trimmer as it's getting a little too big now.
