I'm so sorry ,it's so sad when that time comes .
When the only loving thing you can do for them is help them out of their distress and pain.

My thoughts entirely Lyn. That is exactly how l managed old age, and the resulting associated problems with my dogs. A dog is for life (theirs), not just until it gets too upsetting or difficult for us to deal with. But, like you, when the time came that they were no longer enjoying life, or they were in pain/discomfort, l wasted no time then, in doing the "right" thing.

I am so pleased that Molly is a little bit better :yess:

Totally agree....i know it may seem a dramatic statement to some but as our very caring and understanding vet said to us " you wouldn't have your granny 'pts' just because she was old would you"..!!!

I can understand that Lyn, but is she still chasing rabbits? Is she still taking long walks, I am not saying she is a problem, just that if she is is not enjoying the life she is used to and deserves, then you should let her go. It is NOT about you. It is about Molly.

daitheplant what an uncaring heartless person you seem to be.
None of us enjoy the life we used to have due to our age.
What a silly thing to say.
And as I have already explained it is most defiantly not about me.
She as the right to an old age without being cast aside like a used useless item.

I will not be accused of "keeping her alive for myself " .
It is a difficult enough time without someone , who I might add never even seeing her to pass judgement on me.

I am upset enough without this.
I will not post again on the subject, I wish I never had.

Thank you to the kind understanding people who have posted their support.
But I have now had enough.
I can't deal with this anymore

If possible I would like this Thread deleted.
